Marcus Ian Friedlander
Cinematographer. Writer. Storyteller.

Marcus Friedlander has been working behind the camera since the age of 14. At the age of 15, he directed his first of several short films, and continued to direct until the age of 18. Around his 18th birthday, when he committed to going to film school, Marcus made the conscious decision to focus his efforts on his love of Cinematography. However, he never lost his passion for the art of storytelling.

So, instead of majoring in Cinematography, Marcus chose to major in Screenwriting instead. The logic being, that cinematography is best learned through apprenticeship. Whereas, Screenwriting organically lends itself to an academic education. This logic, combined with the years Marcus spent working as a 1st AC, and at an equipment rental house, has placed Marcus in a fantastic position to compete in the highly competitive market of Narrative Cinematography.

Now, at the age of 30, Marcus has shot almost forty features, produced four more, and shot dozens of commercials and music videos, all while also running a production company for five years that specialized in developing independent feature films.
